Third-Party AI and Data Services
Mentor MD uses third-party services to power its clinical support features and provide you with evidence-based medical information. Below we describe what data is processed, by whom, and for what purpose.
Anthropic (Claude AI)
Mentor MD uses Anthropic's Claude AI to power its clinical support system. When you submit a medical query (text and/or images), your query is processed through Anthropic's API to:
- Extract relevant medical keywords from your question
- Generate evidence-based medical responses with verifiable citations
- Analyze medical images you attach to your queries (when applicable)
Your recent conversation history (last few messages) is also sent to provide contextual responses.
PubMed (National Library of Medicine / NIH)
Medical terms derived from your query are searched on PubMed (operated by the U.S. National Library of Medicine) to retrieve relevant scientific articles and abstracts that support the AI-generated response.
DailyMed (FDA)
Drug-related terms from your query are searched on DailyMed (operated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration) to obtain official drug label information.
Data Protection
- All data is transmitted using encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)
- Your data is not used to train AI models
- No personally identifiable information beyond the content of your medical queries is shared with these services
- Anthropic's data usage policy can be reviewed at https://www.anthropic.com/policies/privacy
